The SEABCRU is committed to assisting young researchers from SE Asia acquire skills and knowledge to further bat research in their home countries, with particular emphasis on capacity needed to fulfill the SEABCRU’s research priorities.
The aim is to implement a hierarchical training scheme in which the most promising young researchers gain experience in bat taxonomy and systematics, ecology and conservation, and outreach. In 2008 eight SEABCRU Fellowships were awarded to individuals to join Dr Tigga Kingston’s research team for a period of one month for survey and ecological training in Malaysia or Indonesia. In 2009 we will be looking for three new applicants. Full details of the Fellowship and the Application Form are here.
